How To Prepare For Your Inspection

Ensure that cupboards containing electrical connections or equipment are emptied to give unrestricted access to the examiner.

All joints, connections and fittings in gas pipe-work must be accessible.

Ensure that there is sufficient gas available to run all gas appliances simultaneously for 5-10 minutes.

Have previous certificate available. Your examiner will need this when he issues the new certificate.

Ensure that keys are available for all locker spaces that are fitted with locks.

If you intend to be present for the examination then help the examiner by removing deck panels and locker lids. Remove items stored in lockers or engine space that might restrict the examiner's access.

Ensure that if you have a 'flash water heater', Palomo, Morco, Rinnai etc, that there is sufficient water in the water tank to run the heater for 15-20 minutes.

Make sure batteries are fully charged.
